Record Kicks

Record Kicks is a Milan-based Italian record label, specialized in deep funk and soul music. In 2003 it was founded by Nicolò Pozzoli in the house of his mother to make head against the omnipresent Italo House with an own label. It made sense to reflect on the roots of the good old jazz and soul, to put a “new” in front of it and take the world by storm with deep funk. Meanwhile it counts to the most renowned labels in that field and defies the digital revolution with its associated music distribution as »Nickrecordkicks« constantly releases groovy sounds on vinyl, many of them in the classical 7”-format. Thereby Record Kicks have a unique appeal on those musicians who appreciate the quality of durability. Amongst the artists who are signed to Record Kicks are soul singer and Motown veteran Floyd Lawson, the rising English jazz combo Nick Pride & The Pimptones such as the Frank Popp Ensemble from Dusseldorf.
