David Pajo, born in 1968, is an American singer and songwriter from Louisville, Kentucky. He performs under the pseudonyms Papa M, Aerial M and M is the 13th Letter. David Pajo has played in countless bands and is considered one of the pioneers of post-rock and maths rock. He founded the band Slint with Brian McMahan, Britt Walford, Ethan Buckler and Todd Brashear and was involved in the recording of Tortoise’s debut album. He played with Billy Corgan, Matt Sweeney, Jimmy Chamberlin and Paz Lenchantin in the band Zwan. David Pajo is also a sought-after live musician and has performed on stage as a guitarist for Yeah Yeah Yeahs Yeahs and Interpol, among others.
