Azymuth

Azymuth (originally: Azimuth), founded in 1972 by Jose Roberto Bertrami, Alex Malheiros and Ivan Conti, is a Brazilian jazz-fusion trio from Rio de Janeiro. The band named itself after a song by Marcos Valle. They call their style, which combines jazz, funk, samba and electronic elements, ‘Samba Doido’ (crazy samba). Three of their most influential albums are: »Aguia Nao Come Mosca« (1977), »Outubro« (1980) and »Fénix« (2016).
