Anticon.

Anticon is a record label from Los Angeles, founded in 1997 by a collective of artists (Brendon Whitney (Alias), Adam Drucker (Doseone), Jeff Logan (Jel), David Madson (Odd Nosdam), James Brandon Best (Pedestrian), Tim Holland (Sole), Yoni Wolf (Why?) and Baillie Parker). In February 2010, Sole left the label in search of new artistic perspectives. Since its founding Anticon is considered to be a collective of artist who stimulate each other artistically in various projects and constellations and who took off the blinders. Although not committed to a particular genre and changing between electronica, indie and hip hop, they especially caused a stir in the genre of hip hop, which stagnated in the end of the nineties. With an unusual style and special topics they managed to arouse interest for rap and hip hop as form of expression among indiekids. Especially Clouddead (Doseone, Why?, Odd Nosdam) have toppled genre boundaries in the early 2000s, with their music which is located between hip hop, ambient, psychedelic and samplism.
