Olof Dreijer

Coral

Olof Dreijer works as a producer, in a duo, under his secret DJ pseudonym or simply as the Olof Dreijer that he is. And that’s exactly what he’s doing on his new EP, »Coral«. Since 2010, his discography has included a number of releases that have turned their backs on the trends and expectations of tech house and have simply gone for it. The crazier and more energetic the better—that’s the recipe for an Olof Dreijer production, as you can hear on his previous releases, such as last year’s »EP Rosa Rugosa«.
»Coral« is made up of three songs. They all sound as if they were created at the very moment they were listened to. Their sounds bubble up like a fountain—random, but with similar power and pace. While »Flora« and »Hazel« build up gentle sonic fragments, the title track »Coral« is more colourful and extroverted. Somehow Olof Dreijer manages to lend his EP a certain lightness. While »Coral« produces vibrant compositions of happiness and exuberance, »Flora« and »Hazel« level out the bouncy soundscape. The combination of the three songs creates a balance you wouldn’t expect after the opener, making it even more surprising.
