It’s a known fact that loads of boys and girls release great music at Brainfeeder – but actually, the world is just waiting for the first record to sensibly combine their trademark-sound with some vocals in order to create an über-album ready to break all rules and bomb all brains. It has been known for some time now that FlyLo-favorite Jeremiah Jae could play a major role in all that, and the announcement of his debut »Raw Money Raps« being released at the beat-factory in Los Angeles stirred the expectations even more. After almost 50 minutes, those expectations are fulfilled. But the brain still feels like it’s in one piece, even though quite a few tracks are nothing but sketches, easy to be pushed aside and ignored on the first few listens. But the record’s flow can only be understood via »False Eyes« and »Cat Fight«, of which the beats stand a little aside the ordinary in the dense atmosphere of »Raw Money Raps«. The instrumentals seem to float like in a strange film, somewhere between rhythm and ecstasy. Everything cut lose from the conventional and beautifully knocked askew. Once you’ve found the entry to this specific universe, the sketches begin to make sense and the lines are connected to a great body of work. Jeremiah Jae is only an observer in all that and calmly adds his lyrics to it. No one will succeed in conquering »Raw Money Raps« by plain reasoning. Just let yourself float. The rest will all start making sense on its own.
