There’s a lot going on at Akua Naru this week: new album, new single, concert in Berlin, warm-up at our Berlin store right before that. But first things first. The musician, activist, producer and feminist Akua Naru, who has been called »the Toni Morrison of hip-hop« by people in the know, is releasing her fifth album »All About Love: New Visions« this Friday. Inspired by bell hooks’ book »All About Love«, the album brings together new songs and old ones in new versions centred around the theme of love.
Her new single »Falling«, a new version of the song known from »The Miner’s Canary«, in which the protagonist is »falling« in love, is released at the same time. The video can be seen here and today as, tada, a world premiere :
Guess who’s coming?
Akua Naru will be in Berlin on Friday, 12 April 2024. In the evening she will give a concert in the almost sold-out Columbia Theatre. Before that, from 1 pm, she will be at our HHV store on Grünberger Straße in Berlin-Friedrichshain, playing a few songs and signing autographs. So come by.
