Legendary in Japan for decades, widely known to us just by rather interested cultural experts and vinyl geek: Kentaro Haneda’s soundtrack for the detective book series »The Adventures Of Kindaichi Kosuke« by Seishi Yokomizo. A highly melodic record full of nimble instrumentation and a lot of skyline atmosphere like from an episode of »Lupin The Third«, which is now being reissued for the first time (worldwide) since the origin release, which was released exclusively in Japan in 1977. According to the cult cover, jazz funk is captured with soundtrack character, which lets nightly disco vibes shimmer over surreal city pop and comes across without interruption like a completely unique style that has been rehearsed for years. From the crazy capers of keyboardist Hideo Ichikawa to Tadaomi Anai’s pointed percussion, Takeru Muraoka’s sax intermezzi and the koto sounds of a kimono Yamauchi, everything happens very closely together here, and in each piece develops a real scenic quality. First there were the books, now, after more than 40 years, finally the right soundtrack again: firstly as a regular black version and as HHV Exclusive Glow In The Dark Vinyl Edition.
