Mansur Brown is coming to Berlin for a concert . On 26 September 2024, the Brit will be playing at the Gretchen – most likely on guitar, because Mansur Brown is particularly good at it. This is evidenced by his collaborations with Thundercat, Yussef Dayes, Robert Glasper and other names that bring tears to the eyes of contemporary jazz funkers.

Speaks flamenco fluently too
But Brown doesn’t need the name-dropping at all. Because he can also play the guitar solo without it sounding like a stodgy campfire atmosphere or male-energy mimesis. You only have to listen to his excellent Boiler Room set(see below). Or know that he speaks fluent flamenco. Or that he’s heard of trap. And knows the Jimi Hendrix songbook by heart. You could recently hear this on Brown’s album »Desta«, which has unfortunately only been released digitally so far.
