Lon Moshe & Southern Freedom Arkestra – Exclusive Edition: »Love Is Where The Spirit Lies«

18.01.2021
Strut has just released »Love Is Where The Spirit Lies« by Lon Moshe & Southern Freedom Arkestra. This is the first reissue since 1977. And we have an exclusive Yellow Vinyl Edition available.

Already last year the British label Strut introduced us to the forgotten music of the American record label Black Fire Records on the compilation »Soul Love Now«. In a key position, a piece by the American vibraphonist Lon Moshe and his Southern Freedom Arkestra could be heard on it. Now, with the first official reissue of »Love Is Where The Spirit Lies« from 1977, they are going in depth. Still part of Oneness Of Juju himself in the early 1970s, the San Francisco-based musician set out to find his own mode of expression over the course of the decade and found it in the spiritual jazz that could be found at the time on labels such as Strata-East and Tribe.
This reissue was remastered from the original reels, comes with the original artwork, new liner notes and band interviews. Only at HHV Records there is an exclusive Yellow Vinyl Edition.
