Pharaway Sounds is reissuing two albums by the Central American band Poder Del Alma. The Afrofunk group was formed in Nicaragua in 1973 to support a benefit concert by Santana. Poder Del Alma was made up of several musicians from the Nicaraguan Latin hippie scene of the 1960s – including Román Cerpas and Ricardo Palma, who released an album with the jazz-rock band Bwana, the original of which you can get a good price for today.
70s psych-funk on the record table
This also applies to Poder del Alma’s previous albums. Both the 1974 debut (»Poder Del Alma I«) and its successor from 1975 (»Poder Del Alma II«) circulate on Discogs for more than 1,000 Euros. With the reissue on Pharaway Sounds, however, Poder Del Alma’s psych-funk can be spun on the turntable at more affordable prices. Exclusively from HHV you can get exclusive vinyl editions in transparent blue and yellow.
