Tim Peterding’s understanding of jazz fits a lot more than the genre itself allows: for him, jazz also leaves room for global pop, hip hop and experimental electronic music. On 12 July 2025, Peterding is hosting the Jazzhouse Festival at the Knust in Hamburg. With a line-up to match.

Three favourite acts
Lady Wray is the headliner. The singer played to a sold-out house as early as 2024. Her voice is powerful, as is her charisma. Timbaland and Missy Elliott are the most prominent of her fans, and the New York Big Crown label is the appropriate label umbrella, see Lee Fields.
Les Imprimés also release on Big Crown. Behind the name is the Norwegian Morgen Martens, who combines the groove and sound of the 60s and 70s, the drum energy of hip-hop and the vocal styles of the 1990s.
The line-up is rounded off by the Zurich trio Löwenzahnhonig, who will surely live in peace with the Khruangbin comparison, because peacefulness is the name of the game here.
