Altin Gün will soon bring their Anatolian psych rock to the stage

13.09.2022

With four albums to their name, Altın Gün, the six-piece band from Amsterdam, has earned a reputation not just among music fans of Turkish origin as an excellent live band. They will prove this in November 2022 and April next year for some concerts in German-speaking countries. Their retro-fied mix of Anatolian folk tradition, funky psych-rock, synth-pop of the eighties (which they have discovered for themselves since their third album »Yol«) and also surprisingly modern sounds is simply even more rousing in the live setting, the audience downright euphoric.

Intoxicating Anatolian Psych Rock

And the best: For this you don’t have to be able to speak Turkish, nor do you have to have attended a proseminar in Anatolian folk music beforehand. The many catchy hits, which apart from all their vintage charm could also simply be described as good pop music, have a direct physical effect (especially on the hips) and also lighten the mood at least for the time of the performance. Altın Gün, by the way, translates as »golden day« – and at least it could be a golden evening when the band is in your town.
