Altin Gün return to the sound of their beginnings with announced album »Aşk«

31.01.2023

After the two Pandemic albums »Alem« and »Yol«, which were very influenced by the synth-pop of the 1980s, Altın Gün return to the Anatolian retro-folk and psych-rock of their beginnings with their fifth album »Aşk«. The ten new songs will be released on March 10, 2023 on Glitterbeat.

Instead of tinkering with their sound tracks alone at home due to Corona, the Amsterdam sextet finally went back into the rehearsal room and studio together. You can clearly hear the new-found joy of playing in the singles »Leylim Ley« and »Rakiya Su Katamam« (see video below) released so far, which is not surprising for a band that is especially loved for their rousing live shows.

March 10 is the »golden day«

Incidentally, the band name means »golden day« and refers to a rural custom in Turkey: once a month, all the mothers of a village community meet to drink tea together and exchange news, with the hostess receiving a gold piece that is passed on to the next hostess as a »challenge cup« at the next Altın Gün. For the band’s fans, the day of the album’s release and the day of the concert will probably be a golden one.
