Adam Green’s 2002 debut »Garfield« comes out on vinyl for the first time

02.02.2023

Before Adam Green in Germany advanced to indie fame as a sarcastic crooner with »Friends Of Mine«, his solo debut “Garfield” was released in 2002, which will be reissued April 14, 2023 as a deluxe edition on ORG Music. For the first time ever on vinyl. Clearly closer to the raw, imperfect sound of The Moldy Peaches than to the later, string-lined songs, Adam Green still presents himself here entirely as a clueless, goofy, if in places vulnerable anti-folk clown.

Back then, DIY was so important in Green’s house that even his own mother was used as a background singer. That had its appeal then as now, and in addition to the concert closer »Dance With Me«, Green also plays two or three other songs from his debut album on his current tours.

DIY writ large

The 14 songs from the original album are joined on a second LP by just as many demo and live versions, including »Love Will Tear Us Apart« (!) and The Moldy Peaches hit »Steak for Chicken«. A limited orange vinyl edition of only 300 copies is available exclusively from HHV Records.
