Cool Jazz
Cool Jazz is a subgenre of jazz that emerged in the 1940s. It arose from bebop and it is ascribable to the academization of jazz. It is characterized by a slowing of the tempi and a reflection on aspects of the form, which resulted in komplex arrangements and filed improvised and composed parts. Renowned representatives were Miles Davis, the Modern Jazz Quartet, Chet Baker, Dave Brubeck and Lennie Tristano.
