Bikutsi is a musical genre that originated from the traditional music of the Ewondo people in Cameroon. Bikutsi is characterised by a 6/8 beat and was traditionally played on instruments such as the mvet and the balafon. An important aspect of Bikutsi is the choruses sung by women. In modern Bikutsi, electric guitars and keyboards are also used.
