Often, clarity disguises more than it discloses. This is when we need a disruptive factor, some impreciseness and a walk along the borderline to the non-visible to realise the nuances, to facilitate a new discovery of the seemingly crystal clear. This has a slowing-down effect and allows the adjustment of one’s perspective. James Ginzburg and Paul Burgas aka Emptyset have been following this strategy since 2005. Where rhythmicity usually presides in clear sound form, on their tracks everything dissolves into a crackling and hissing sound. Simplicity and recurrence entangle in applied chaos theory made of Low-Pass-filters and constant overmodulation, just to step out of this atomisation of particles, reborn as a ghosts of their self. Emptyset achieve to tease out the potential of chaos and club structure likewise in an interplay of this deconstruction.
