The trio around producer Moses Yoofee Vester has not only caught the Westdeutscher Rundfunk. Also Kamaal Williams and Gilles Peterson, of course. The latter has been one of the most important ambassadors for the renewal of UK jazz in the past few years. And the Moses Yoofee Trio fits really well into this context, their sound is comparable: hip-hop, R&B and soul/funk are just as important to their sound as ‘jazz’, it can groove and be danceable without a driver’s license. The three musicians received the German Jazz Award for their live performances this year.
