Tidal Waves is going to reissue »Boogie Legs« by the Nigerian musician Nkem Okonkwo alias Jake Sollo, first released in 1980, on May 29, 2020. In the 1960s and 1970s, Jake Sollo worked with bands such as The Hykkers and The Funkees and from 1976 he was a member of the legendary Afro-Rock combo Osibisa for almost two years. After his return to his home country, Jake Sollo not only became one of Nigeria’s most popular high gloss boogie producers, but also released three successful solo albums spanning pop, African groove disco and psychedelic reggae until his accidental death in 1985. »Boogie Legs« is the third and last part of this trilogy and was recorded with top musicians who later collaborated with Kim Wilde, Sade and Maxi Priest. . Exclusively at HHV Records there will be a Yellow Vinyl Edition limited to 100 copies.
